Scallops and Bacon
Two of my favourite local suppliers provided me with the the ingredients for this simple starter.
The smoked back bacon came from my good chum Derek Stott of D and D Family Butchers, and the scallops (note the roe must always be attached for the best flavour) came from the good people of Sea Haze on Brighton Beach.
The bacon and scallops were fried in butter with black and white pepper, note scallops need no more than 60 seconds each side (any more than that and they will be like rubber!).
Absolutely delicious!

University Rips Off Isolating Students - £17 Per Day for Food!
My uni charging £17 a day for food if you have to isolate is an absolute shambles. How can they expect everyone on budgets to be able to afford that??

We’re calling on UK pubs & hospitality to join us. Post #SOS videos, tag your MP & media. Turfing crowds out of #Covid secure venues onto streets puts lives & livelihoods at risk #CallTimeOnTheCurfew pic.twitter.com/hbKrJJpxJo

Shout Out and Kudos To Pinocchio Brighton
A special shout out and kudos to the good people of Pinocchio Brighton, who looked after us so well last night.
Despite being rammed, because of the success of the #EatOutToHelpOut scheme, the atmosphere was great, the service was efficient and friendly and the food fantastic.
Maître d' Olga even managed to dig out a splendid and robust bottle of Chianti Colli Senesi, which was not on the Covid reduced wine list, from deep storage.
Thanks to Olga and the ladies/gentlemen in red for a great evening!

#EatOutToHelpOut Warning
I understand that some restaurants who have signed up to, and advertise, the Eat Out To Help Out Scheme are not offering this to their diners during all the hours that they are open on Mondays-Wednesdays.
Restaurants who have signed up are obliged to offer this during their opening hours on those days. To time limit the offer can be construed as advertising under false pretences and, possibly, indicates fraud by the restaurant.
