Ingredients
- good quality chicken
- onion peeled and studded with cloves
- leek chopped
- turnips peeled and cubed
- carrots chopped
- garlic
- bay leaves
- lemon quartered
- thyme
- parsley
- stock
- salt/pepper
Method
Place all ingredients in a large pot and cover with water.
Bring to the boil, then simmer very gently for about 80 minutes.
Serve with mash and a mushroom sauce.
